Potential of biomass resources in CZE and costs of its energy utilisation - II
Štěrba, Martin ; Pavlas, Martin (referee) ; Máša, Vítězslav (advisor)
In recent years, we are more and more confronted with the concepts of bio-energy, biomass or biofuels. In conjunction with the increasing pressure on the use of these commodities thein demand is increased. Crops for the purpose of energy production may be an important renewable source of energy and are the primary topic of the work submitted. Introductory chapter provides distribution, characteristics, list of representatives of crops and ways of energy utilisation the crops. Is folloved by an introduction to the legislation dealing with energy crops. The market for biofuels is still in its infancy, and therefore the work submitted presents only general view of the current status of the production and use in the Czech Republic and potential prospects. Interesting is also the position of farmers and the issue of competitiveness. These areas are collectively analyzed in the final chapters.
Fuel Properties: Proximate Analysis of Solid Fuels
Kučera, Ondřej ; Elbl, Patrik (referee) ; Musilová, Petra (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the use of biomass as an alternative energy source and proximate analysis of solid fuels. In the theoretical part there is a research on energy utilization of biomass and a proximate analysis of solid fuels. Individual methods of determination of proximate analysis are described in detail, namely determination of water, ash and volatile combustible content and determination of gross calorific value. The practical part presents results of analysis of selected locally available plant biofuels. The methods of proximate fuel analysis have been successfully applied.
Evaluation of technology for the biomass incineration.
Bílek, Vít ; Pěček, Jan (referee) ; Jícha, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis is concerned with overview of methods of processing and utilization of biomass. It describes technologies for biomass energy. Part is devoted to energy crops and other biomass resources.
Evaluation of production abilities of selected energy grass species
KUTIL, Josef
In the project "Non-food use of biomass in energetics" is solved task in part dealing with the grass species as a potential source of biomass for energy use. Selected species to monitor are the cocksfoot (Dactylis glomerata), tall oat grass, (Arrhenatherum elatius), reedgrass (Phalaroides arundinacea), grown in three locations - Č.Budějovice, Lukavec, Sokolov. The data for the work were obtained from small-plat experiments, the main part directed to determine dry matter yield per unit area. The potential of biomass for silage use was also rated. The outcome of this work is the evaluation of individual species of grasses as an energy source.
Proposal and generalisation of follow-up care of reclaimed sludge-lagoon areas.
NOVOTNÁ, Michaela
The purpose of my dissertation is to analyse the state of reclaimed sludge-lagoon areas, to suggest the system of follow-up care including the extensive exploitation of these areas and to examine their integration into the countryside.
Interactions between plants and soil biota and effect of energetic crops on these interactions
Heděnec, Petr ; Frouz, Jan (advisor) ; Pergl, Jan (referee) ; Mortimer, Simon (referee)
My PhD thesis is focused on study of plant-soil interactions. Chapter 1 is focused on general introduction to the interactions between plants and soil biota in terms of relationships between soil organisms and aboveground biomass as well as root biomass. Chapter 2 is focused on food interaction of Folsomia candida and soil microscopic fungi (Penicillium chrysogenum, Penicillium expansum, Absidia glauca, and Cladosporium herbarum). Fungi were grown separately on Petri dishes or on different litter type (oak, alder and willow) separately as well. Laboratory experiments showed that food preference was more influenced by different litter types than fungal species. In chapter 3 was studied long-term production of hybrid sorrel and its effect on the composition of the soil meso and macrofauna, basal soil respiration, microbial biomass and composition of cultivable fraction of soil microscopic fungi in comparison with oilseed rape and cultural meadow. There was found that long-term production of hybrid sorrel affects the composition of soil fauna, while the microbial activity of the soil was more affected by agriculture practices, especially tillage. In chapter 4 was studied the effect of native (Salix viminialis and Phalaris arudinacea) and introduced (Reynoutria sachalinensis, Silphium perfoliatum and...
Pěstování energetických plodin v České republice
Kozmanová, Lucie
The presented work deals with methods of a cultivating and utilizing of bioenergy crops in the Czech republic. By a model bioenergy crop, a rape seed, there are described its agrotechnical requirements, the way of a harvest and an post-harvest modifications of this crop. After summary of crops, there is a financial side of the cultivating of the rape seed in specific area of South Moravia. In a conclusion, there is comparison of two different technologies of rape sowing, their pros and cons and comparison of yields.

Environmental aspects of japan poplar growing - greenhouse gases emissions
KAŇKA, Jakub
The aim of the bachelor thesis "Environmental aspects of japan poplar growing - greenhouse gases emissions" is to create a general overview of cultivation of fast-growing woody plants , specifically japan poplar, by literature study. Another objective is to elaborate a research focused on the environmental impact of its cultivation on greenhouse gas production, which is expressed by the production of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2 eq). For this purpose, the scope of all operations and interventions including the establishment, treatment and subsequent harvesting of the plantation was elaborated in the range of this thesis. Using these data, the total emission burden for the environment in terms of CO2 eq production resulting from the cultivation of energy crops was calculated in the SIMA - PRO program.
